2026 Essay Theme:
“Because of Her”
Open: Until December 31, 2026
Length: 500-1500 words
Email: DandelionRevolutionPress@gmail.com
Subject Line: In Her Words
We all carry exceptional women within us—their voices, their faces, their bold choices. For this essay series, we invite writers to reflect on the women who have opened doors for them or opened their minds and made a personal impact. These could be women from history, pop culture, literature, activism, and beyond.
We are looking for personal essays about women in the public sphere—women we all can know and love, too. Tell us how she shaped you, how she challenged your perspectives, how she sharpened your voice, and above all, how you keep her close in your everyday life. This essay series is a space to honor the women who, in both the big ways and small, made us who we are. We wish to celebrate the lasting impact these women have left.
The piece will be published on our SubStack.
Autumn 2026 Theme: “Threshold”
Open: Until June 30, 2026
Email: DandelionRevolutionPress@gmail.com
Subject Line: Threshold
Length: 1,000-3,500 words
What is a threshold? It is a moment suspended—between who we were and who we’re becoming, between the known and unknown. For this theme, we’re seeking stories that linger in that in-between space. We want work that explores women characters standing on edges. These can be literal or emotional thresholds. We’re interested in characters who test the limits, redraw lines, or may not even cross the threshold, but be bold enough to stand upon it. Show us women who hesitate, who leap, who turn back, who remake the rules of passage altogether. Submit your short fiction or creative non-fiction for inclusion in this digital issue on our website and SubStack.
