Meet the DRP Team

This year, we’re excited that our Editorial team is growing to keep up with our ambitious goals. We’re joined by creative and talented women, who have been involved with the DRP journey, either as writers and/or editors. They understand our mission to share stories that need to be told. Get to know us!

Ashini J. Desai

Co-Founder/Editor

Ashini balances creative writing with a family and a technology career. While she does not write for a living, she writes to live, especially coming from a family of writers and readers. Her work is published in Dandelion Revolution Press’s anthologies, Not Quite As You Were Told, The Secrets We Keep and Every Breath Alight. Her poems have been published in anthologies Cities, Overplay/Underdone, as well as River Poets Journal, Philadelphia Poets, Thema, plus Asian-American anthologies Word Masala, Yellow as Turmeric, Fragrant as Cloves. Her selected poems are found on AshiniPoetryBlogspot.com and on Instagram as @AshiniWrites.

Ashini will read anything she can get her hands on — short fiction, long fiction, memoir, nonfiction, poetry, essays, blogs and articles.

Paige Gardner

Co-Founder/Editor

Paige Gardner is a lover of all things fiction. She enjoys writing novels, short stories, and flash fiction. Paige grew up in a small town outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in Europe with her husband. When Paige is not writing, she loves teaching English to adults, exploring and traveling through her new home in Europe, enjoying a drink with close friends, and laughing. Her work is published in Dandelion Revolution Press’s anthologies, Not Quite As You Were Told, The Secrets We Keep and Every Breath Alight. You can find more of her writing at paigegardnerwrites.com.

Paige loves to read: magical realism, dystopian societies, and ambiguous endings that stay with her long after she’s finished the story.

Natalya Bucuy

Editorial Team

Natalya is a Siberian human. She was born at the top of the world and after moving around a bit, she has settled in Bucks County, amidst Pennsylvania’s rolling green hills, inspiring art scene, and never-boring seasons. She’s been a writer since the day she was born, but did not truly write until Journalism school. (Temple Univ proud!) Over the years, she has dipped into various forms of writing and publishing. Her short stories have been published in Dandelion Revolution Press’s anthologies, Not Quite As You Were Told and Every Breath Alight.

Natalya’s one rule in life is to say “yes” to new experiences since she believes they sculpt the inspiration for good writing. She’s honored to join the talented ladies of DRP to help bring our voices to the world. Let’s share our stories!

Non-fiction memoirs bring her joy in life!

Jessica Kaplan

Editorial Team

Jessica Kaplan works as a teacher of the visually impaired and orientation and mobility specialist. She enjoys hiking, sketching in parks, attending the Bucks County Writers Group, exploring new places, and reading and writing fiction along the way. Her short stories have been published in Dandelion Revolution Press’s anthology, Every Breath Alight.

Jessica is excited to be part of the DRP team.

Jules McLaughlin

Editorial Team

Jules grew up in an old haunted house with a historic pet cemetery outside of Philadelphia, PA. She has always been a writer, though she has chosen to work as a dog trainer and a veterinary technician to help pay the bills. (It certainly has nothing to do with the haunted pet cemetery.) She is endlessly fascinated by the human ability to tell fantastical tales as an attempt to make sense of the world. She currently lives in Bucks County, PA with her wife and dogs, and–for now–no ghosts.

Jules loves to read all genres, though she gravitates towards science fiction, fantasy, and all things speculative.

Swapna Padhye

Editorial Team

Swapna is a seasoned professional in the scholarly publishing industry, focusing on scientific and technical research in academic journals. She enjoys the collaboration with academics and nonprofit academic organizations to help disseminate scholarly research and knowledge.

As a recent empty-nester, having raised two lovely young women, Swapna is exploring new hobbies and passions. She enjoys being active outdoors with running, hiking, and bicycling. She loves food and going to museums. She is excited to be part of DRP and the team of creative, talented, and enterprising women.

She enjoys short fiction and novels of adventure and mystery, and favors stories involving the Asian diaspora.

Scarlet Wyvern

Editorial Team

Scarlet Wyvern is part poet, part girl, and part dragon. Since she was a young hatchling, Scarlet has reveled in the written word. Scarlet is fascinated by mythology. When she is not busy writing or soaring through the sky lighting villages on fire, Scarlet delights in reading, photography, playing video games, singing karaoke and making snarky comments while sipping the blood of her enemies out of a crystal chalice. Her short stories have been published in Dandelion Revolution Press’s anthologies: Not Quite As You Were Told, The Secrets We Keep and Every Breath Alight. Her graphic novel/poetry book, Massacre My Heart is available for purchase on Amazon.com.
